Last Day Buck

The sunrise on that last morning of the hunt was absolutely breath taking. I remember asking my guide to stop, I wanted to get some film of the sunrise. Unknown to me the beautiful sunrise was setting the stage for a great climax to my hunt. It was Saturday, the last day of my six day hunt with Pine Creek Outfitters. I was really starting to second guess my decision to pass up on three previous bucks, one of which was a magnificent 10 point. He just didn't have the mass I was looking for, but on this last day of the hunt the memory of that 10 point was vivid in my mind and I was wondering if I hadn't made a mistake passing him up. My guide had suggested we try a different stand. He said, "I know there are BIG bucks there". Anyway, his confidence was raising my spirits a little. We hadn't gotten to my stand when we spotted a doe and only seconds later the buck trailing her. He was out about 165 yds. and I could see he had good mass even from that distance. There was no time to glass him, but when opportunity knocks you have to grab it. My 338 cracked with authority and the buck went down! Making a mental note where the buck went down, I headed across the clear cut. My guide was right. There were BIG bucks here. No ground shrinkage on this buck. The buck was a true Alberta monster. We estimate his weight at about 350 lb. The buck scored 176 7/8 with 18 score-able points; a truly massive buck by any standards. It was a great hunt and I am looking forward to my next hunt with Pine Creek Outfitters.
Stories From Our Clients
Dear Pine Creek Outfitters :
Alberta was one of my best hunts ever. Thanks to your staff I got to see Alberta like no other hunt. Big clear cuts, hills, deep ravens, lakes and to be 46 miles off the hard road back in the bush, that far back into Alberta wilderness. Wow! We had cold weather and some snow. You should see all the deer tracks after a fresh snow along with wolf tracks which you can shoot also. We were able to see a 150 class buck but he moved too fast. It was getting to the end of the week and the staff kept my hopes up. On the last day, last hour, I shot a 13 point 250 lb. Alberta Whitetail. The hunt, staff and accommodations where top notch. I GIVE THESE GUYS A 5 STAR HUNT.Thanks to Pine Creek Outfitters. Hope to see you again soon!
The newest member of my "Celebrate the Hunt" trophy room. He should look familiar. I harvested him with you guys last spring. The taxidermist estimated his weight at 325- 350 lbs. He measured a solid 6'+. Great bear guys.

Thanks again,

Tabb
